Thieves smashed in the door of a Hillsboro music store and got away with guitars.
Police responded to the alarm going off at Watz Up Hillsboro Music Co., 270 E. Main St., at 5:40 a.m. Saturday. Officers said the front glass door was shattered and items were stolen from the display case immediately inside the door.
Among the items taken were guitars and an accordion, according to police.
A witness told investigators he saw two men running away from the scene east on Main Street, then south on Third Avenue where they got in a waiting car. The car is described as a 1990s green BMW 3 Series model.
The suspects are described as Hispanic men in their 20s, around 5'6" or 5'7" tall with medium builds.
The dollar value of the stolen instruments is still being determined, but Hillsboro police said the damage to the door exceeds $1,500.
If you know anything about this case, call detectives at 503-681-6175.
