Police investigating south Nashville bank robbery

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Metro police and the FBI's Violent Crimes Task Force are searching for the man who robbed a south Nashville bank Tuesday afternoon.

The SunTrust Bank branch at 4310 Nolensville Pike was robbed about 1 p.m. when the suspect handed a teller a demand note and said he was armed.

Police said he then left the bank through the front door with an undisclosed amount of money, but it is unknown if he got into a vehicle or not.

The suspect is described as a black male in his late 30s, approximately 6' and last seen wearing a black polo-type shirt with white buttons, dark blue sport coat, blue driver cap, dark pants and brown dress shoes.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect or knows where he might now be, call Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.
