Worker electrocuted at substation on Oregon coast

GOLD BEACH, OR (KPTV) -

A worker was electrocuted working on a transfer box at a Bonneville Power Administration substation on the southern Oregon coast.

It happened at 9:45 a.m. Tuesday about seven miles north of Gold Beach.

The Curry County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call about a man who was not moving while he was still in the air in his "bucket."

The man was brought down, taken out and CPR was performed. The man, identified as Benjamin Cool, 35, of Lewiston, ID, was rushed to the hospital and subsequently pronounced dead from his injuries.

He was working for Wilson Construction of Canby, according to deputies.

The investigation is ongoing.
