Coast Guard crews want to know who's behind three distress calls that turned out to be a hoax.
The calls came in Sunday starting at 4 p.m.
The first was traced to an area between Puget Island and Wallace Island.
About two hours later, two more calls came in, with callers saying, "Help, mayday," and "My boat is sinking."
Those messages were traced to the Hayden Island area.
Making a false distress call is a felony, and if you have any information on the calls, you are asked to contact the U.S. Coast Guard.
