Kelso woman headed to jail after trying to hire someone to kill

KELSO, WA (KPTV) -

A Kelso woman, who was willing to pay money to have a man killed, is heading to prison.

Tuesday, a judge sentenced Amanda Kirwan to 14 years behind bars. She pleaded guilty in July to several charges, including solicitation to commit murder. In January, police say an informant told them Kirwan had made plans to kill Ryan Fancher, because of an unpaid drug debt. The informant told police that after Kirwan tried, but failed to shoot him with a pistol, she tried to get someone else to do it.

As part of the investigation, detectives say they recorded audio of Kirwan trying to arrange for Fancher's murder, in exchange for money.
