HILLSBORO, OR (KPTV) -

A 34-year-old Hillsboro woman died in an SUV crash in rural Washington County around 1 a.m. Wednesday.

Washington County deputies said Jessica McFarland was speeding on Northwest West Union Road when she took a corner too fast, and came within about 10 feet of crashing into a house.

She was traveling westbound in a GMC Envoy, just a mile west of 185th Avenue when the crash happened. Deputies said she drove her SUV into the oncoming lane, drove another 300 feet, including about 44 feet airborne, before crashing in the yard.

McFarland was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators said speed is a likely factor in the crash, but they didn't know exactly how fast she was going. The designated speed limit on the road is 45 mph.
