GRESHAM, OR (KPTV) -

One man is in the hospital and another in jail after a stabbing at a Gresham convenience store.

Police arrested 46-year-old Francisco Lopez of Portland just before 10 p.m. Sunday. Officers were called to the 7-Eleven on the corner of 187th Avenue and East Burnside when witnesses called 911 to report seeing a stabbing in the parking lot.

When officers arrived, they found the victim, a 28-year-old male from Portland, conscious a short distance from the initial crime scene. Emergency crews transported him to a local hospital with a non-life-threatening wound to his chest. His identity has not been released.

Using information from the victim and witnesses, police tracked down Lopez, who police believe was  the only person involved. Officers say they do not believe the crime to be gang-related.

Lopez is being charged with assault and several weapons charges. He is being held on $265,500 bail.
