CHILOQUIN, OR (KTPV) -

A 15-year-old Prosser, WA, girl is dead, and two babies are among the five other passengers who are recovering from injuries, after a driver lost control on Highway 97 in southern Oregon early Saturday morning.

Yasmin Rivera, 15, was killed around 5:45 a.m. when she was ejected from the front passenger seat of a Jeep Cherokee.

Oregon State Police said that the driver, 44-year-old Olga Rivera-Chavez of Sunnyside, WA, had drifted into the shoulder of the highway near Chiloquin while heading southbound.

Police said the jeep rolled multiple times, and that the teenager was not wearing a seatbelt.

The five remaining passengers, who were all injured, were from Yakima, WA.

A 30-year-old woman and a 3-year-old boy were treated at the scene for minor injuries, while an 18-year-old female and two babies, ages months and one year, were transported by ground ambulance to Sky Lakes Medical Center in Klamath Falls.

Investigators say all of the other occupants in the vehicle were wearing safety restraints or were in child safety seats.

Fatigue is suspected to be a factor in the crash.
