PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A man on post-prison supervision for first-degree attempted rape is now facing that same charge again in McMinnville.

Police said Trinidad Padilla, 44, entered a McMinnville business at 1:15 p.m. Wednesday. Officers are not identifying the business in the interest of protecting the victim's identity.

Investigators said Padilla had been watching the store and the employee for several days. When no one was around Wednesday, he went in and confronted her.

He forced her into the back part of the store, according to police, and attempted to assault her sexually.

The employee fought and screamed continuously until he gave up and ran away from the scene, police said.

The employee ran to a nearby store and called 911.

Padilla was located nearby and arrested. He was living in subsidized housing at the Yamhill County Correctional Facility. He is now being held at the jail on a probation violation.

Additional charges including attempted rape, kidnapping and sex abuse are anticipated as the investigation progresses, according to investigators.

Police said it does not appear the victim knew the suspect in this case.
