CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

A Cuyahoga County jail guard was indicted Thursday afternoon for taking bribes in exchange for favors for prisoners.

Corrections Officer Tim Thomas, 40, works at the Cuyahoga County Justice Center in downtown Cleveland.

Investigators say Thomas got $2,000 cash plus a used car with a reported value of $500 in return for granting a prisoner special treatment.

Thomas was indicted on 10 counts of bribery, two counts of obstructing justice and one count of tampering with records.

19 Action News Reporter Scott Taylor says Cleveland Police Officers arrested Thomas at work Thursday and escorted him out of the Justice Center in handcuffs. A search warrant was executed at his home.
