Terri Horman agrees to evaluation in hopes of seeing daughter

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Terri Horman, the stepmother of missing Portland boy Kyron Horman, is willing to undergo an evaluation to determine whether she should be allowed to spend time with her daughter, according to court documents.

Kyron's father, Kaine Horman, requested the evaluation.

Kaine and Terri Horman are currently separated while Kaine Horman pursues a divorce. The couple's 4-year-old daughter, Kiara, has been living exclusively with Kaine Horman for the last three years since the disappearance of Kyron.

Terri Horman has been the focus of the investigation into Kyron's 2010 disappearance from Skyline School in northwest Portland. She was the last person to have reported seeing Kyron, but she was never formally named a suspect.

Court documents said Terri Horman will not answer any  questions during the upcoming evaluation that would compromise her Fifth Amendment rights.

Documents filed by Terri Horman's legal team said "there are a number of troubling aspects of (Kaine Horman)'s prior conduct and parental decisions that should be thoroughly investigated by the evaluator," but the lawyers did not elaborate on the allegation.

The documents also alleged that police "perpetuated the dissemination of inaccurate information about the circumstances of the disappearance of Kyron Horman."
