PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A man on horseback leading two pack horses may slow traffic heading into downtown Portland on Friday morning.

Drivers on Highway 26 eastbound were told to be extra alert, expect delays and to not be distracted by the sight of three horses riding down the freeway.

Oregon Department of Transportation crews will be on scene to address traffic issues.

The rider told ODOT he plans to ride on two segments of Highway 26, starting at 10 a.m.:

  • From Southwest Murray Boulevard to Cedar Hills Boulevard.
  • From the Oregon Zoo exit to the Jefferson Street off-ramp.

He will be riding along sections of the highway that permit non-motorized vehicles.
