PHOENIX (CBS5) -

This week is coming to a close but the wet weather hasn't stopped.

SRP said storms knocked out power to about 5,400 customers, primarily in the east and southeast Valley. It expects to have power restored by about 7:30 p.m.

ADOT said heavy rainfall flooded part of State Route 74, closing a five-mile stretch of highway near Lake Pleasant. The highway is closed from New River Road at milepost 24 to milepost 29, about a mile west of Interstate 17. ADOT said there is no estimated time to reopen the highway.

Mesa Fire and Medical Department spokesman Larissa Dvorak said crews responded to a Big 5 store near Main and Signal Butte for a water leak that is causing some sagging to a portion of the ceiling. The business was evacuated. No one was hurt.

Parts of Anthem had drenched streets Friday afternoon and plenty of slow driving as the Valley is hit again with the monsoon.

A big batch of storms came through in Sun Lakes. It was a large rain shaft concentrating on just a small patch of land.

Pockets of weather have been developing all around the Valley Friday night.

For some, it made the Friday afternoon commute a little longer. ADOT cameras showed the rain coming down on drivers on Interstate 10 and Warner Road in Ahwatukee.

A severe thunderstorm warning was issued for Maricopa County until 5 p.m. [See the latest alerts]
