SCOTTSDALE, AZ (CBS5) -

Two burglary suspects are in police custody following an hours-long SWAT situation at a Scottsdale home Monday afternoon.

Denise Gonzales, 34, and Steven Hancock, 28, were booked into jail on charges of burglary and warrants.

Police said the pair entered a home in the 9200 block of East Hoverland Road at about 4:45 p.m. and began burglarizing the home.

A home security system alerted the homeowners, who called police.

When officers arrived, the suspects refused commands to leave the home.

At 10:30 p.m., the couple finally surrendered without incident, police said.
