SILVERTON, OR (KPTV) -

Silverton police are looking into a home invasion after a woman said she woke up to find two men inside her duplex apartment Tuesday.

It happened on Wagon Wheel Court near the intersection of Pioneer Drive and South Water Street.

"It scared me," said Denia Gibson, who is in the process of moving out of her apartment. "I didn't get much sleep last night."

Gibson said she was taking a nap at about 5 p.m. when she woke up and saw two men standing in her bedroom doorway, talking to each other in Spanish. She yelled at them to get out before barricading herself in the bedroom.

"I slammed the door and locked it," she said. "Then I just got as close to my window as I could."

Without a cell phone to call 911, Gibson said she hid in her bedroom for more than 20 minutes, listening to the intruders ransack her home downstairs. She said they ripped open moving boxes, looking for valuables.

Investigators tell FOX 12 a neighbor heard screams and called 911.

"It's not every day you hear someone saying, ‘Call the police! There's something happening,'" said neighbor Jeanine Tisot. "I didn't know if it was real, so it's better to call the police and make sure."

Police searched the area but did not find the crooks. Officers described the intruders as Hispanic men in their 30s or 40s.

Gibson said the burglars took about $80, her bank card and her ID from her purse.
