INDEPENDENCE, OR (KPTV) -

Two men wanted in connection with a murder investigation were spotted by police walking down the street in Independence.

Eddie Lopez, 23, and his brother Lorenzo Lopez-Gordillo, 22, are facing murder charges for the shooting death of Charlie Rivera, 23, on Sept. 7.

At 3:45 a.m. that morning, Salem police were called out to the Londonaire Apartments, 955 Concord St. N.E., on reports of a shooting. They found Rivera in his car suffering from a gunshot wound.

He was taken to Salem Hospital and died that night. Police said the shooter walked up to the victim's car, opened fire and then ran off.

Lopez and Lopez-Gordillo were identified as suspects by Salem detectives. A warrant was served at their Gervais home on Tuesday, but the brothers were not there.

Independence police spotted them walking along Monmouth Avenue at 1 p.m. Friday. They were arrested and are set to be arraigned Monday afternoon.
