Teens sought for intentionally hitting cat with car

Posted: Updated:

Washougal Police are hoping to track down a group of teens suspected of intentionally running over a cat with their car.

It happened in the early hours Friday, Sept. 13. Witnesses called 911 after seeing a late model 2000s white Ford SUV with gray trim, similar to an Explorer or Expedition speed eastbound on H Street in Washougal. They say the vehicle intentionally drove onto a curb and hit a cat that had just crossed the road. Witnesses say they heard a male yelling, "Hit it, hit it!" seconds before the vehicle swerved.

As the cat lay dying in the grass, the vehicle returned twice to look at it. Witnesses say the vehicle was occupied by three or four late teen males.

Anyone with any information on this case is asked to contact the Washougal Police Department at 360-835-8701.
