A suspect in Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody is now charged with murdering a 23-year-old Woodburn man in August.

Police were called to 1590 James St. in Woodburn at 2:45 a.m. Aug. 4. Officers located Juan Pedro Bravo-Luna, who had been stabbed. He was taken to the hospital and died from his injuries.

Investigators located four people of interest in the case on Aug. 7. They were taken into ICE custody on charges unrelated to the murder investigation.

On Monday, Mateo Torres-Morales was taken from ICE custody to the Marion County Jail and arraigned on a secret indictment for the charge of murder. He remains behind bars without bail and is set to appear in court again Sept. 23.

The same grand jury returned an indictment against Juan Torres-Santizo as well. He is charged with attempted murder, attempted assault and unlawful use of a weapon for an alleged attack against a friend of Bravo-Luna.

Bail was set for Torres-Santizo at $500,000. He is also due back in court Sept. 23.

On the morning he was killed, witnesses reported seeing Luna drinking in the parking lot with other men when the situation turned violent.

"I seen them hitting each other and they grabbed beer bottles and they were hitting each other with beer bottles," Jose Maldonado told FOX 12 last month, adding the men appeared to be drunk and stumbling.

"When I opened the door, that's when I saw him on the floor right there," said neighbor Vicky Rangel. "He was bleeding and screaming and asking for help and saying he was dying."

Police have not released a motive in this case.
