A Scappoose woman has been sentenced to 18 months in prison for bank larceny. A U.S. District Court handed down the sentence to 35-year-old Jade Carnahan on Monday.

Carnahan was the operations manager at the Rivergate Federal Credit Union on N. Ramsey Boulevard in Portland. In that capacity, she had access to customer account information. The court found Carnahan guilty of embezzling more than $400,000 from the bank vault and customer accounts for her own personal use.

In addition to her prison term, the court also ordered Carnahan to serve three years of post-prison supervision and repay $408,062 in restitution.

At her sentencing, Carnahan blamed an addiction to pain medication as the reason for her crimes.
