New charges filed against Aloha carjacking suspect

HILLSBORO, OR (KPTV) -

A Hillsboro man is facing new charges for a February carjacking at Club Underground on TV Highway in Aloha.

The district attorney's office dismissed the original case and re-filed charges against Daniel Broome earlier this month.

Broome will now go to trial Nov. 5 to face four counts of first-degree robbery, four counts of unlawful use of a weapon against another, first-degree theft and felon in possession of a firearm.

Deputies found a chaotic scene and people holding a man down on the ground when they responded to Club Underground last February.

They said Broome approached a car with four people inside, then tapped a gun on the driver's window. He demanded the keys and ordered everyone to get out, deputies said.

The 33-year-old female driver grabbed a knife, exited the car and grabbed Broome, wrestling him to the ground, according to the sheriff's office. Others helped hold him down until authorities arrived at the scene.
