Investigators look for cause of SE Portland house fire

Posted: Updated:
PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Fire investigators are looking into the possibility that arson may be the cause of a house fire in the 900 block of Southeast 38th Avenue.

The fire broke out shortly before 9 p.m. Tuesday, and there are reports that someone was seen running from the house carrying a gas can.

An arson investigator was on scene Tuesday night but fire officials have so far not released a cause of this fire.

There were no people, but one dog in the house at the time. Firefighters say they got him out but he died at the scene.

Neighbors say a family of five lives in the house, but they were not home at the time.
