Stolen truck found by FOX 12 crew; robbers still at large

Posted: Updated:

A repair man doing work at a home in Southeast Portland was robbed of his work truck, phone, wallet and keys Monday morning.

Portland police officers responded to the 7800 block of Southeast 114th Avenue just before 9 a.m. The repairman told police he was at the home to do repairs when two men confronted him inside the house.

One of the suspects was armed with a handgun. They told him to hand over his phone, wallet and keys, and they then left the area in the victim's white Ford F-150 pickup truck.

The victim eventually was able to call 911, but the robbers escaped before police could respond.

The white pickup truck, which had an orange cement mixer in the back and "Rupp Family Construction" graphics on it, was found abandoned mid-day Monday by a FOX 12 crew covering the story.

FOX 12's reporter called police, who then responded to Southeast 112th Avenue and Knapp Street to examine the truck for evidence.

The robbers remain at large.

Police described the armed suspect as white, in his 40s and 5'8" tall with a medium build. He's clean-shaven and wore all dark clothing. A description of the second suspect wasn't immediately available.

Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to call 503-823-0405.
