A man caught on camera setting an SUV on fire has been sentenced to more than two years in prison.

DNA evidence collected at the scene of the fire in February near 97th Avenue and Steele Street led arson investigators to Michael Gunst.

A K-9 used by officers helped them identify the presence of a fuel used to start the fire. That fuel was also found on three homes near the SUV, and investigators said Gunst actually intended to set all three homes on fire.

Back in February, investigators reported finding a sheet soaked with gasoline and a large gas can near the scene.

In the surveillance video, Gunst can be seen walking through a yard to the front of one home. The video shows him striking a lighter several times before an SUV burst into flames.

Gunst pleaded guilty to one count of arson and one count of attempted arson as part of a plea deal with the Multnomah County District Attorney's Office. He received a 2-1/2 year prison sentence.
