Stabbing suspect to face a judge

VANCOUVER, WA (KPTV) -

The man accused of stabbing a woman to death in Vancouver will face a judge Tuesday. Deputies arrested Neal Kelly Saturday, after finding two stabbing victims inside a home on Northeast 89th in Vancouver.

According to court documents, Kelly and the victims had been smoking methamphetamine inside the home, when Kelly pulled out a knife and stabbed Jennie Brill and Sterling Shaver. Brill died at the scene. Paramedics took Shaver to a nearby hospital, where he's in critical condition.

Shortly after the stabbing, several other people left the house and told deputies what happened, documents say. When officers confronted Kelly, he threw a shelf at them, hitting Deputy Eric Cramer. Cramer wasn't badly hurt.

It eventually took seven deputies to subdue and arrest Kelly, investigators said. He now faces murder and attempted murder charges.
