PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A Portland police officer is recovering from a minor dog bite wound after getting attacked under the Morrison Bridge Tuesday morning.

It happened around 8 a.m. when Central Precinct officers were conducting "wake-up" calls and asking folks to pick up their property along Southwest Naito Parkway.

A dog running loose attacked and bit an officer, causing a minor injury, police said.

According to investigators, several people became combative with officers, who deployed pepper spray in the course of making two arrests.

Multnomah County Animal Control seized the dog.

Police identified the two men arrested as Angel Lopez, 20, and David Bentley, 38. Both were booked in the Multnomah County Jail.

Lopez is charged with disorderly conduct, harassment, interfering with a peace officer and resisting arrest. Bentley is charged with assault and harassment.
