TROUT LAKE, WA (KPTV) -

A Coast Guard helicopter was able to rescue Matt Margiotta and Kyla Arnold off the Pacific Crest Trail near Trout Lake Tuesday evening.

The pair had left for a hike on the trail from Mexico and were trying to reach Canada. Skamania County deputies say the pair did not require any medical treatment.

The search resumed Wednesday morning for 31-year-old Kristopher Zitzewitz of Portland. He became separated from his partner Sunday while looking for caves in the Big Lava Beds area about 10 miles north of the town of Cook.

Skamania County deputies said they started searching for him over the weekend, but have so far been unable to find him. There were 41 ground searchers, two vehicles and four K-9 teams looking for Zitzewitz on Tuesday, with a home base set up at Goose Lake Campground.

The search is also continuing for 23-year-old Alejandre Wilson, who was reported missing by her father Monday morning. She is also hiking the Pacific Crest Trail from Mexico and last spoke with her father Friday at 3 p.m. as she left Trout Lake for White Pass, WA.

Deputies said they're trying to learn more information about her whereabouts and her current condition. She was supposed to check in with her father by now.

Undersheriff Dave Cox said it was a busy weekend with three additional search and rescue operations, but he said agencies from Washington and Oregon have pitched in to help out.
