It's not called the Rose Garden anymore, but the newly named Moda Center will maintain the city's signature flower on its official logo.
Moda Health unveiled the new logo for the home of the Portland Trail Blazers Thursday. It includes a plum-colored rose image, along with the words "Moda Center."
The company said the rose "pays tribute to the history of the building, as well as a nod to the ‘Rose City.'"
The words are similar in style to Moda Health's company logo.
The design was created by Ziba, a Portland-based firm.
"We're thrilled today to be able to present this logo to the people of Portland," said Jonathan Nicholas, vice president of marketing with Moda Health, in a statement. "We're confident they'll grow to love it as much as we do."
Installation of new Moda Center logos around the Rose Quarter campus is already under way. The signs on the outside of the arena are scheduled to be finished in time for the Blazers first regular season game of the new season on Nov. 2 against the Western Conference champion San Antonio Spurs.
The Blazers announced the sale of the former Rose Garden's naming rights to Moda Health in August.
