A truck driver hauling scrap metal lost control on Highway 237, was thrown from the truck and ended up underneath a bail of recycled metal.
Police said the 1990 GMC truck was heading north on Highway 237 near Milepost 24 south of Union at 9:50 a.m. Thursday. The driver, Benjamin Thompson, 37, of La Grande, lost control on a left curve and hit a guardrail.
