Man struck by car on Division Street in Portland

A man suffered life-threatening injuries when he was struck by a car at 156th Avenue and Division Street on Friday morning.

The Portland Police Bureau's Major Crash Team is investigating the crash, which happened around 8:45 a.m.

When officers arrived, they found the 25-year-old victim suffering from traumatic injuries.

The 49-year-old driver, who struck him, stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, according to police.

Police said their investigation showed the victim was crossing Division in a marked crosswalk when he was hit by the eastbound Dodge SUV.

Neither the driver nor the pedestrian were under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

No citations have been issued so far.

Eastbound Division Street was temporarily closed while police investigated the crash.
