Two men accused of dealing drugs out of home near Marysville School

Posted: Updated:

Two Portland men were arrested Friday for allegedly making and selling heroin just feet from a local elementary school.

Police moved in on Robert Carlson and Steven Buck early Friday morning at a home on Southeast Raymond Street.

Neighbors who live near there say they've suspected for some time that the home was a drug house.

"You would just see different people in and out of the garage, and then you'd walk by and see different people," said neighbor Teri Clark. "I've heard a lot about this house off and on for the past couple of years."

The home itself shares a property line with Marysville School and that's why neighbors say they called police numerous times once they noticed people dealing drugs from the house.

"I've seen a lot of traffic coming in and out, and it concerned me, its right next to an elementary school.  I just feel like they were getting away with this for so long, I'm glad they finally they got arrested," said one neighbor who asked FOX 12 to remain anonymous.

Carlson was released from jail late Friday afternoon, and argued his innocence to FOX 12.

"This is a bunch of crap," said Carlson as he was walking back home.  "As far as I'm concerned, it's harassment."

Carlson says he can't understand why he's being accused of selling drugs, and believes the neighborhood is just out to get him.

"I'm suing the state, because police harassed me on a bicycle, thinking I was riding around on the street dealing drugs and they harassed me, and they found no drugs on me.   Then, they searched the house with ten cops and dogs and found nothing, just paraphernalia for personal use and that's it.  That is all they're going to find, because that's all that's there."

Buck was released from Jail late Friday evening.

Carlson and Buck are both charged with Manufacturing and Delivery of Heroin within 1000 feet of a School and Frequenting a Place where Controlled Substances are used.

Both men will make their first court appearance on Monday.
