Zombies invaded downtown on Saturday afternoon for a zombie walk event hosted by the Greater Springfield Convention and Visitors Bureau.
The event started in Stearns Square and finished in Court Square.
At the finish, there were zombie-themed games and prizes, contests, food and live music.
The event was free, but all those who participated were asked to bring a can of tomato sauce with them to be donated to Friends of the Homeless.
The first 500 participants got a wristband that gave them discounts at local restaurants and attractions.
The zombie walk was part of Zombie Fest 2013, which consists of zombie-themed events throughout the entire month of October.
