MEDFORD, OR (KPTV) -

The body of a man reported missing after leaving Portland for Medford last week on his motorcycle has been found in a remote part of Lane County.

James Lutter of Phoenix, OR, was expected to follow a roundabout route that went eastward through Detroit to John Day, then southwest to Medford on various back roads.

He was expected in Medford on Thursday.

A spokesperson for the Jackson County Sheriff's Office said Lutter's body was found Sunday morning by deputies from the Lane County Sheriff's Office who had received a tip.

Lutter was found pinned under his motorcycle off a forest road, and about 12 feet down a ravine.

He was wearing a personal locator beacon, however the device had not been activated.

Search parties from Jackson, Douglas and Lane counties all worked together in their efforts to find Lutter.
