SALEM, OR (KPTV) -

A statewide Drive Less Challenge starts Monday in Oregon.

The Oregon Department of Transportation is spearheading the effort to reduce greenhouse emissions and encourage alternative forms of transportation.

The challenge is open to anyone 18 and older who lives or works in the state.

Participants can log their trips taken by bicycle, public transit, carpooling or walking.

After signing up, participants have a chance to win a number of prizes from sponsors Wells Fargo and Bike Friday.

The more drivers leave their cars at home, the higher their chances of winning.
