ALBANY, OR (KPTV) -

Three Albany schools went into lockdown due to police activity Wednesday morning.

West Albany High School, Memorial Middle School and Liberty Elementary were in lockdown for nearly three hours until police gave school administrators the all clear.

During the lockdown, West Albany students were initially confined to classrooms and not allowed to move around the school, but officials eventually lowered the threat and allowed teachers and students to move about the building.

All three schools have since resumed normal operations.

Albany police have not confirmed any information about the police activity, but a witness shared a photo of police converging on a home near 18th and Walnut streets. A SWAT team member could be seen on a nearby roof.
