PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

The Portland Timbers are in the playoffs, and their bitter rival Seattle will be their first opponent.

The Seattle Sounders beat the Colorado Rapids on Wednesday night, 2-0, in the knockout round.

The Timbers will now play the Sounders in Seattle this Saturday for the first leg of the Western Conference Semifinals. It's a two-game series. The second match between the two teams will be played Nov. 7 at JELD-WEN Field. The team that scores the most total goals in those two matches moves on to the conference finals.

Timbers fans like Portland's chances.

"It's a strong rivalry," said Timbers fan Bobby Lemanski, who watched the Seattle/Colorado match at a bar in southwest Portland. "It's great for the northwest. I think we have what it takes to advance with the Sounders."

Two-thousand tickets went on sale Wednesday morning for the second part of the two-game series with Seattle. The tickets sold out within about 20 minutes.

The Timbers clinched the regular-season Western Conference title this past Saturday with a win over Chivas USA.
