Bullets fired from moving car whiz by potential victim in Lents neighborhood

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Police are investigating an attempted drive-by shooting that occurred in the noon hour in southeast Portland. No one was hit by the gunfire.

According to a police spokesman, at 12:18 p.m. officers responded to a report of a shooting at Southeast 82nd Avenue and Malden Street.

When police arrived they found a man who said someone shot at him from a car passing westbound on Malden Street. 

Police found evidence of gunfire at the scene. However reports from witnesses about the type and color of the suspect's car were conflicting, so that information was not being released.

Investigators said the incident did not appear to be gang-related.
