Deaf students send special ornaments to Washington DC

Posted: Updated:

It won't be falling from the sky, but a bit of Oregon rain will be hanging on the National Christmas Tree in Washington, DC, this year.

Students from the Oregon School for the Deaf created two ornaments for the tree. During a brainstorming session, they came up with ideas about what represents Oregon.

It shouldn't be surprising that trees and rain reminded them of our state the most.

Next, they created the ornaments. They each hold a sparkling raindrop made out of tissue paper, glue and beads.

The National Park Foundation chose schools from each state to participate.
