His car then hit a pickup heading south on the highway.

The Padden Parkway exit was shut down, as well as the right southbound lane. Driver were advised to use an alternate route.

Police said it's not yet clear what caused the man to crash through the median.

A woman who uses the Twitter name @ScanCouver tweeted that Johnson was her husband and had been feeling ill when he left work. She had been tweeting about the crash before she knew he was involved.
