Police looking for missing medically fragile teenager

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -
The Portland Police Bureau Missing Persons Unit is asking for the public's help in locating a teenager.  Authorities said Jasmine Hayes, 17, voluntarily left her Gabriel Park home Monday afternoon in Southwest Portland.

Family members reported to police that Jasmine is medically fragile and may be suffering from a medical condition.  If left untreated, her welfare could be in danger.  There is concern that the recent extreme weather conditions that Portland has been experiencing could worsen her condition.

It is believed Jasmine left on foot.  There is no suggestion of foul play.

Here is a description of Jasmine:

  • 5'5" tall
  • 95 pounds
  • Straight, shoulder-length, brown hair
  • Hazel eyes
  • Last seen wearing brown wool pants, a dark brown fleece jacket, an orange or gold-colored knit cap and a white scarf.
  • She may also be carrying a white bed sheet.

Anyone who knows of Jasmine's whereabouts is asked to immediately call 911.  Anyone with additional information about this case is asked to contact Detective Mike Weinstein at (503) 823-0446.
