BEAVERTON, OR (KPTV) -

A parking dispute and a tube of lipstick led to criminal charges for a woman in Beaverton.

Police said they were called to the Town Square Fred Meyer at 4:35 p.m. Dec. 3. A woman reported that a Porsche SUV had parked extremely close to her Mercedes Benz, and when she made a statement to the other driver about it, an altercation ensued.

Mimi Chim said the other driver, identified as Maria Meracle, began yelling and cursing at her. Meracle is then accused of writing a message in red lipstick on Chim's driver's side window about her parking.

Chim claimed small scratches were also made to the paint on her car. She said she got back in her car and told Meracle she was going to call police.

"Chim told me that the female subject then yelled that she was rich and the police couldn't do anything," according to the officer's incident statement.

When contacted Wednesday, Meracle told Fox 12 she did not make that statement and she also denied scratching Chim's car.

Officers at the scene asked Chim what she wanted to do, and she said she wanted Meracle arrested.

Police said Meracle at first refused to provide officers with her driver's license.

"The female subject was very curt with me and stated that somebody had parked inappropriately next to them," a police report states.

Meracle said the other driver was in the parking spot first, according to Beaverton police, but she was there to pick up a big screen TV and wanted a parking space close to the store.

Police noted that Meracle's SUV was backed into the parking spot and its left rear tire was a foot or more into the parking spot on the right.

Meracle was arrested on charges of harassment, criminal mischief and disorderly conduct. She told Fox 12 she admits to writing on the window with lipstick, but added the charges she is facing are too severe for that.
