A woman accused of crashing into three parked cars in an Aloha neighborhood is charged with DUII and hit and run.
Washington County Sheriff's deputies say 53-year-old Shawn Davenport led them on a chase before she finally pulled over near her home in Beaverton Sunday afternoon.
Her Jeep was badly damaged and missing a front tire after the initial crash.
"Hopefully, she has insurance," said Fernando Ortega, who owns all three cars that were damaged.
The family had just bought a Subaru Legacy that was likely totaled. Their Ford Expedition that was parked in front of it was also damaged. So was Ortega's classic Datsun. With six kids to get around and Christmas shopping that still needs to be done, the family desperately needs a new car.
It was just before 4 p.m. when the crash happened.
"My wife told me that she heard a loud noise," said Ortega. "She looked out the window and that's when she saw the lady trying to pull away from the cars."
Another driver, Roderick Daniel, witnessed the crash and followed the driver while on the phone with 911. He said the woman was driving erratically.
"All over the place, not caring about other people crossing the street, she was careless, very reckless," said Daniel.
Davenport was booked into the Washington County jail and remained behind bars Sunday night.
