Two people arrested after I-5 crash near Albany

Posted: Updated:
Oregon State Police arrested two people after a traffic crash that shut down I-5 North near Albany for several hours.

OSP says that a trooper tried to stop a car at about 4:30 p.m. Sunday because of a report that it had been involved in a hit-and-run in Lane County.  Police say the driver sped away and crashed into another car with a family of four inside.  Debris from the crash was spread across the northbound and southbound lanes of the interstate, damaging two other vehicles.

The family members in the vehicle that was struck were taken to a nearby hospital to be checked for possible injuries.  Police arrested the driver of the other car and his female passenger.  Their names have not been released yet.
