The Oregon Humane Society is giving workers at local companies the most adorable break they've had all year.
The organization launched its fleet of Snuggle Express cars on Wednesday. Businesses signed up to have puppies and kittens arrive at their workplace for employees to cuddle, coddle and play with.
The goal is simply to relieve a little holiday stress, while highlighting some of the local animals up for adoption.
On Wednesday, the Snuggle Express made one of its stops at R2C Group in northwest Portland.
"They get a little break from their day to day and a little bit of fun and I think it can be a bonding experience for our employees also," said Carla Balen of the R2C Group.
The second and last day for this year's Snuggle Express is Thursday.
Because of the high demand, businesses had to sign up by Dec. 10. A donation of $100 brought a 15-minute visit, while $200 to the Oregon Humane Society would get employees a half-hour with the adorable animals.
A donation of $1,000 guaranteed an hour-long visit.
The Snuggle Express is sponsored by Oregon City Subaru, which is furnishing all vehicles used to transport the kittens and puppies.
All the animals on the Snuggle Express are available for adoption at the Oregon Humane Society shelter. For more information, go to www.oregonhumane.org.
