Thief targets apartment-management business

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A key piece of equipment is missing from outside a southeast Portland warehouse.

A hot water pressure washer on a trailer was stolen early Friday morning from inside a gated area at NFN Investments, a company that manages and revitalizes apartments.

Kurt Rice with NFN said it cost $8,400.

"You kind of feel violated; you get upset about it," said Rice. "There's not a whole lot you can do except what we are doing, which is taking some proactive steps around our warehouse."

Rice said the business is increasing security measures, but didn't want to give specifics that would compromise the effort. The theft on Friday was caught on surveillance cameras and showed a man with a hoodie cutting a chain used to lock the gate. It also shows another man acting as a lookout and the washer being hauled away behind a green truck.

Anyone with information about the crime is asked to contact Portland police.
