The ex-boyfriend of a missing Beaverton woman is now facing murder charges.

Cottage Grove Police arrested David Bowen at 11:15 a.m. on Thursday, according to the Lane County Jail website.

Police served a search warrant at his home on the 1400 block of West Birch Ave. in Cottage Grove on Wednesday in connection to the disappearance of Tammy Borda, 55.

Borda spent Thanksgiving in Cottage Grove and planned to return to Beaverton on Dec. 4, but investigators said she never came home.

Police said Borda and Bowen were seen together shortly before she disappeared. Her cell phone had been turned off at some point and her voicemail box was full, according to investigators.

Bowen is facing felony charges of murder and second-degree abuse of a corpse, as well as a misdemeanor charge of tampering with physical evidence.

A friend of the family has set up a fundraising site to  help raise money for funeral expenses.
