A fire took just minutes to gut her entire trailer home. Now, with nothing left, one grandmother is trying to figure out what to do next.
It happened Wednesday morning on Valerie Debroekert's 50th birthday.
She heard a crackling sound coming from her bathroom. Minutes later, her entire trailer was in flames.
Everything she owns, including her home, is completely destroyed. None of it was insured.
"I can't think about what to do. I don't know what to do," Debroekert said.
Debroekert said she never thought it could happen to her.
"I think it was only five or six minutes from the time I saw it until it was coming out the roof," she said. "I kind of wasn't really there, like it was happening to somebody else."
She said she would like to buy another trailer and move back to that area. In the meantime, she is staying with family in Salem.
"I never thought about something like this happening," she said.
Debroekert's friend has set up a fund for anyone who would like to help. To donate, click here: http://www.gofundme.com/5tnuqc
