One man suspected in 3 small business break-ins

SALEM, OR (KPTV) -

Police said the same person may be responsible for burglaries that occurred at businesses within a block of each other.

The break-ins occurred at a flower shop, a dress shop and at a Hispanic market on Lancaster Drive NE early Saturday morning.

The front doors of two businesses next door to one another were smashed in, and the cash registers were tampered with.

Lollypops and Roses owner Lori Jacobson was devastated about the timing of the incident.

"This is our busiest holiday for us. It's not just one day but we have flower deliveries going out since last Wednesday you know all the way to Tuesday, Christmas Eve."

Around the corner at El Torito Market, $2,000 was taken from the register.  A surveillance camera caught a brief image of the suspect, peeking through the glass of the front door.

Owner Liliana Perez is hoping the business owners can work together to find the culprit. "You work so hard for your stuff and then you have somebody just come and break in," she said.

Anyone with information is being asked to call Salem Police.
