PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

The driver in a deadly crash in southwest Portland was released from the hospital Monday and taken to the Multnomah County Jail.

Audy Molina-Colindres, 29, is facing charges of manslaughter, DUII and reckless driving.

Police said Molina-Colindres lost control of his car, crossed over a median and slammed into a tree off Southwest Barbur Boulevard at 3 a.m. Friday. His passenger, Dmitriy Maksimov, 28, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Molina-Colindres was trapped inside the car. Emergency crews were eventually able to get him out.

He was treated over the weekend at the hospital and released Monday. He was then booked in the Multnomah County Jail.

From the start of the investigation, police said alcohol appeared to be a factor in the crash.

His bail was set at $255,000.

Barbur Boulevard was shut down between Terwilliger Boulevard and Capitol Highway for hours after the crash.

This case marked the 35th traffic death in Portland this year, according to police.
