Caught on camera: Two men work together to steal scratch-off lottery tickets

Posted: Updated:

Two robbery suspects are caught on camera stealing hundreds of dollars worth of Washington Lottery Scratch tickets.

Police said they entered the Paradise Truck Stop, 2814 N.W. 319th St., Ridgefield, at 9:45 p.m. on Jan. 8. One of the male suspects distracted a cashier at the deli counter, while the other crawled on the floor and swiped the lottery tickets.

About 30 minutes later, some of the stolen tickets were redeemed at the AM/PM market at 6300 Pioneer Street in Ridgefield.

The suspects were again caught on camera. Police said the suspect cashing in the stolen tickets was wearing the same black sweatshirt the second suspect wore in the initial robbery, only it was turned inside out to hide the logo.

That was a black zip-up hooded sweatshirt with a white marking on the back neck area. The second suspect also had sage-colored pants and a black "DC" T-shirt.

Both suspects are described as white males.

Before leaving the AM/PM store, one of the suspects is caught on camera stealing several lighters from a display rack while the clerk was gathering the lottery winnings.

Loss Prevention Group handles security for the truck stop and is offering a cash reward in this case. If you recognize the suspects or know anything about this case, call police at 360-263-2745 or 360-263-2750.
