Phoenix police are investigating a shoot out between a robbery suspect and the owner of a jewelry store.
Sgt. Tommy Thompson said it happened around 4 p.m. Tuesday at Diamond Star Jewelry, near 13th St. and Northern Ave.
Thompson said the suspect is a woman in her late 20's.
Police won't confirm what she got away with.
But, the victim's wife told CBS 5 News over the phone that her husband gave the suspect money.
She said the suspect then shot her husband in the leg.
At that point, the wife said her husband fired back, hitting the suspect, who took off.
Police told CBS 5 News they are still looking into who pulled the trigger first.
"A lot of the specifics about any exchange of conversation, or what was said or what transpired, we don't know," said Thompson. "What we do know is, she came in to rob the place and she was shot. She left. She was picked up on foot about a block away from here."
Police arrested the suspect in a neighborhood near 13th St. and Winter.
Thompson said both the victim and suspect were taken to a hospital with no life-threatening injuries.
